Visual Illustration (Photo Story) for PAUSED MOTIONS.
HEY IMFYlites. Another photo story for an upcoming talented photographer whom happens to be my friend. Hope you can relate and do let me know what you think.
It is said that there is a beauty in the little things which go unnoticed, love in the most inconspicuous show of care, faith in a little demonstration of belief, trust in few words of confession and honesty.
Unfiltered images, irregularities, gray areas of life between the black and white, misunderstood thoughts, scarred faces, half smiles, filth, eerie backgrounds. I think that’s what is called BEAUTIFUL IMPERFECTIONS.
Amidst all these discrepancies and differences lies the African male Dame, the male queen, the one who has come to accept what is, what cannot be instantly changed, but somehow still finds a way stay happy. The one who gets excited by the little thing which gives them some sort of meaning to life.
An ant ‘backing’ a fellow ant, an elderly man who dresses hippy and talks in a weird American ‘wanna, gonna accent’, the fine aunty who likes wearing short skirts and dresses but gives them sweets daily after which the cheer her with names like ‘aunty wey too fine’, an ex-soldier who fought in the war and likes to tell stories which always begin ‘when I was a soldier’ whom now goes around with a wheelbarrow asking for people with spare parts to bring them to him, the ‘uncle’ with a camera who wants to take pictures of them so they all jump in excitement and follow him around.
The undisturbed, unperturbed, unworried, composed one who shows just a little bit of confusion as to his environs. Subtle. But is still the perfect embodiment of strength in weakness.
We all have a little bit of a star in us, we just have to find it.
Love xx.
